\'Game Of Thrones\' Star Maisie Williams Posts Parting Message To HBO Show And Her Character

Maisie Williams has become the latest cast member to leave Game of Thrones behind as the actress reveals that she's wrapped filming on the eighth and final season.

Taking to Instagram to bid goodbye to the hit HBO show, Maisie said goodbye to Arya Stark and the show by sharing a picture of some very bloody shoes – although we're not sure if that's something that doesn't bode well for Arya, or for the people on her kill list.

"Goodbye belfast. goodbye arya. goodbye game of thrones," Maisie captioned the post. "What a joy i've had. here's to the adventures to come."

And then, just to add a bit of further mystery, she accompanied the post with the captions "last woman standing" and "barely".

Does this mean Arya survives the final season (in which case maybe Sophie Turner's tattoo was a pretty huge spoiler after all)? Or does it just mean that Maisie happened to be the last woman on set that day?

Only more-or-less a year to go before we can find out.

Maisie is the latest Game of Thrones star to post an emotional farewell to the show after Daenerys Targaryen actress Emilia Clarke shared her own goodbye to the character she's been playing for nearly ten years.

"It's been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I'd be able to live and the family I'll never stop missing," she wrote.

Game of Thrones will come to an end with its eighth and final season next year, and Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, recently told Digital Spy thatfans can expect an "unpredictable" – but satisfying – ending.

"For me – without giving anything away, I guess – I was satisfied with how unpredictable the show's ending really is," she said.
