Four Star Texas WR Target Elijah Higgins Releases Top Seven Schools

Texas had another big weekend on the recruiting trail as the Longhorns secured commitments from four-star wide receiver Demariyon Houston and key cornerback target Marques Caldwell.

Texas now has 13 commits in its 2019 class and moved up to No. 10 in the 247Sports Composite national team recruiting rankings with a score of 229.10.

UT is ranked No. 2 in the Big 12 Conference behind Oklahoma, which holds two more commits at this time. Oklahoma has a total score of 248.29. Texas is ahead of TCU by roughly 50 points with three fewer commits, so UT is safely in the No. 2 spot at this time.

Texas has an average rating per recruit of 91.99, which means the Longhorns are slowly building a quality class. But there is still work to be done.

The new Top247 recruiting rankings dropped on Thursday, and Texas is after several of the country's top prospects. Tom Herman and his staff have made it a point to build a national brand this cycle and go after the best regardless of where they are from.

Here is a look at where the Longhorns stand with their 10 highest ranked targets.
