ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Five separate shootings in St. Louis leaves seven people injured. With 94 murders this year the city of St. Louis is running at 2015's bloody pace.
Detectives at the police headquarters had their hands full overnight. They are still investigating the five separate shootings. Residents we talked would like to know when the violence will end.
One homeowner, who did not want to be identified, is speaking out after the recent violence. He says that he is lucky the family that lives inside his home is alive. A gunman opened fire late Tuesday night in the 8600 block of Goodfellow.
Investigators say a man was shot in the stomach and a woman was shot in the leg. When the bullets started flying, they came straight through his living room window
"Lucky no one got hit over here. They talking about outlawing the guns. They need to outlaw the bullets. It's not the guns it's the bullets killing people." said the homeowner.
Police say the violence continued throughout the night. In the 4200 block of Michigan avenue.. a man was shot in his chest. His current condition is unknown.
Another double shooting in the 4800 block of Hammett Place happened around 12:40am. Police said a man was shot in his abdomen, and a female was shot in her shoulder.
Five hours later a woman was shot in the stomach in the 1400 block of East Grand.
The latest shooting happened around 5:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of Cottage. A man was shot in the head.
This trend reflects a nationwide spike in homicides and gun violence. Police continue to ask the community to work with police to end the violence.
